Junior Camp

Junior Camp will be a great opportunity for children to experience three+ wonderful days of camp.  We will be going to Timber Lakes Camp and Retreat Center near Ottawa, KS.  You can visit the camp's website at www.timberlakescamp.org and see the beautiful grounds and facilities.  MEBC will provide the transportation and staff for counselors, recreation support, activities, and teaching.  Timber Lakes Camp will provide the lodging and meals.

  

Camp begins Sunday afternoon at Metro East Baptist Church and we plan to be back to the church Wednesday evening.  

During camp children will participate in many activities.  Cabin devotions will be led by the counselors and will offer a good opportunity to study the Word of God and discuss personal applications.  Evening services will have age-appropriate teaching that will challenge the children to apply Biblical principles in their own lives. 

During the week the children will be encouraged to recite the ten verses they are challenged to memorize and participate in team Bible-quizzing.  Each day also includes some organized team games with plenty of water balloons for cooling off on the warm July days.  The campers can also enjoy swimming in the large pool, canoeing and paddle-boating on the lake, kiking on many beautiful nature trails, and relaxing under the many shady oaks.  An afternoon canteen time provides the opportunity to spend a few dollars on special treats.

  

It is our goal to make Junior Camp a very enjoyable experience, but even more importantly, to create a lasting desire to build their lives on God's truths while studying and memorizing His Word.  The camp study Bible references and memory verses will be available on the church information counter in the church lobby around mid-June.

Please do not let a financial difficulty prevent you from registering your child.  Complete and submit a form anyway!  Funds have been provided for special needs.  Registrations must be received by Sunday, June 22.
