A Word About Our Ministry
The heartbeat of the Student Ministry at Metro East centers around Jesus' words from what are called the Great Commandments (Mt 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Mt 28:18-20). Because of these passages, we believe that Student Ministry exists to glorify God by encouraging and equipping students in their pursuit of loving God, loving others, and making disciples. We evaluate our weekly programs and events on whether or not they help us grasp and live out these teachings of Jesus.
In an attempt to paint a picture of what a student should look like who is grasping the great commandments and the great commission, we have named eight values for our student ministry. These values form the backbone of our teaching and become the themes of our events and programs. It is an honor for our adult leaders to come alongside students and their parents as we strive to follow hard after Jesus.
