A Word to Parents
When God gives instruction in Deuteronomy 6 to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength," He turns to parents and tells them that they are to impress this upon their children. This is a beautiful and challenging call to parents to teach their kids about the goodness of God and the treasure of following Him.
Our student ministry wants to help you in this task, but we can never replace you, nor do we want to. We simply want to echo to your student what you want them to know, namely that God is the most glorious and most satisfying being in the Universe. Because we see our ministry simply as a support to you, you are always welcome to sit in with us.
There are several roles a parent can play in our ministry. We need parents to come and teach or shepherd students, help in planning events, support other adult leaders, provide transportation, or be an adult presence in the room. May God bless you as you fight to lead your student to live a God-centered life.
